PRODUCT INFORMATION

Nitrates are colourless, odorless and tasteless compounds formed when organic matter decomposes in nature and can be found in well or surface waters. Potassium and ammonium nitrates accruing in drinking water as a result of their pervasive use in lawn and garden fertilizers. High levels of nitrate can turn skin to a  bluish or gray color and cause more serious health effects like weakness, excess heart rate, fatigue, and dizziness. Aries nitrate reduction cartridges use ResinTech®  SIR-100-HP resin. Its unique functionality offers twenty-five times greater nitrate affinity than standard strong-based anion resins. This cartridge reduces nitrates efficiently with low leakage, and eliminates the possibility of nitrate dumping upon exhaustion. In Canada the maximum acceptable concentration of Nitrate in drinking water is 45 mg/L (45 ppm). The AF Series nitrate removal filters are available in four sizes.
