AF Calcor pH Neutralization Filter Cartridges
pH is an indicator describing water acidity or alkalinity. The pH scale ranges from 0-14 where 7 is theoretically the neutral point. The proposal of neutralization cartridges is to correct the pH and eliminate the corrosive effects of acidic water. Neutralization cartridges act on low pH waters by slowly dissolving the calcium carbonate and magnesium oxide media as the water flows through the filter, raising the pH of the water and increasing the alkalinity. If the initial pH is less than 6.0, Calcite media alone does not dissolve fast enough to correct pH to neutral. Therefore Aries FilterWorks Calcor Neutralization Filter Cartridges are based on a combination of Corosex and Calcite. The specific blend allows the pH to be corrected over a more effective range. The Aries Calcor pH Neutralization Cartridges are available in four sizes: 2.5” x 10”, 2.5” x 20”, 4.5” x 10” and 4.5” x 20”.
